How much does therapy cost?

Cost per 1-hour appointment:

• $160.00 + HST. This is a typical rate for an experienced and fully qualified Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario.

Accepted methods of payment:

• Credit card, e-transfer, cash.

Insurance coverage:

• Most private insurance plans offered by employers in Ontario will cover psychotherapy.  Check your policy details in advance to make sure therapy with a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) is covered. 

• If you do not have private insurance, according to Canada Revenue Agency, you can claim psychotherapy as a medical expense on your income taxes.

If you can’t afford therapy with me:

• I believe that therapy should be available to everyone no matter their financial situation. It is for this reason that I also work as a therapist with the Hamilton Family Health Team to provide therapy to those who could not otherwise afford to pay with insurance or out of their own pockets.  If you need help accessing free mental health services in the Hamilton, Ontario and surrounding area, I can suggest some options.
